Body Continent Serie
In 2018 I was exploring materials and colors, and a painting emerged that I later called body-continent. I did not develop the serie, but since then that painting raises questions and asks me to develop something in that direction.
When first the image emerges and then the concept.
First the image came up and then the title and the idea. When I saw that there was a kind of body, a block, a form, abstract but concrete and closed, like a cell, an island, a continent in the drift. The image made me think that it was a corporeal block that drifts, that exists, that has a history, wounds, marks that are there and that are part of life, just as territories have their own marks, whether they are natural, geological or induced by the environment or by the effect of human beings who modify and modify and have a direct impact on the territory

Since then, I reflect on all these aspects both conceptually and visually. The idea is to develop a new series along these lines and see what emerges along the way.

En el 2018 estuve explorando materiales y colores, y surgió un cuadro que luego llamé cuerpo-continente. No desarrollé la serie, pero desde entonces ese cuadro me interpela y me pide que desarrolle algo en esa dirección. Cuando primero surge la imagen y luego el concepto. Primero surgió la imagen y luego el título y la idea. Cuando vi que ahí había una especie de cuerpo, de bloque, de forma, abstracta pero concreta y cerrada, como una célula, sentí que era una isla, un continente a la deriva. La imagen me hizo pensar que era un bloque corpóreo, que deriva, que existe, que tiene historia, heridas, marcas que están ahí y que forman parte de la vida, así como los territorios tienen sus propias marcas, sean estas naturales, geológicas o inducidas por el medio ambiente o por efecto de los seres humanos que modifican e intervienen directamente en el territorio. Cuerpo y territorio, marcas, historia y deriva. Desde entonces, reflexiono en todos estos aspectos tanto conceptuales como visuales. La idea es desarrollar una nueva serie siguiendo esta línea y ver que surge en el camino.
